Basic introduction of channel steel

In use, it is required to have better welding, riveting and comprehensive mechanical properties.  The raw material billet for channel steel is carbon bonded steel or low alloy steel billet with carbon content less than 0.25%.  The finished channel steel is delivered by hot working, normalizing or hot rolling.  Its specification is expressed by the number of millimeters of waist height (H)* leg width (B)* waist thickness (D), such as 100*48*5.3, representing waist height of 100 mm, leg width of 48 mm, waist thickness of 5.3 mm of channel steel, or 10# channel steel.  The channel steel with the same waist height, such as several different leg widths and waist thickths, also needs to be distinguished by adding A B C on the right side of the model, such as 25# A, 25# B, 25# C, etc.

Channel steel is divided into ordinary channel steel and light channel steel.  The specification of hot rolled ordinary channel steel is 5-40#.  The specifications of hot-rolled flexible channel steel are 6.5-30# as agreed by the supply and demand parties.  Channel steel is mainly used in building structures, vehicle manufacturing, other industrial structures and fixed cabinets, etc. Channel steel is often used with I-beam.

Channel steel can be divided into 4 types according to shape: cold curved equilateral channel steel, cold curved unequal channel steel, cold curved inner coil channel steel, cold curved outer coil channel steel.
