In July, crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million tons, down 5.4 percent year on year; Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 110.1 million tons, down 5.2% year on year; Crude steel production in the European Union (27 countries) was 11.7 million tons, down 6.7% year on year; Other European countries produced 3.5 million tons of crude steel, down 16.5% year on year; Middle East crude steel production was 3.2 million tons, up 24.2% year on year; Crude steel production in North America was 9.6 million tons, down 5.4% year on year; Crude steel production in Russia and other CIS countries, as well as Ukraine, was 6.4 million tons, down 29.1 percent year on year; Crude steel production in South America was 3.6 million tons, down 7.8 percent year on year.
From the top 10 steel producing countries, in July, China's crude steel output was 81.4 million tons, down 6.4% year on year; India's crude steel production was 10.1 million tons, up 3.2% year on year; Japan's crude steel production was 7.3 million tons, down 8.5 percent year on year; U.S. crude steel production was 7 million tons, down 6.4% year on year; South Korea's crude steel production was 6.1 million tons, down 0.6 percent year on year; Russia's crude steel production is estimated at 5.5 million tons, down 13.2% year on year; Germany's crude steel production was 3 million tons, down 2.0% year on year; Brazil's crude steel production was 2.8 million tons, down 8.7% year on year; Turkey's crude steel production was 2.7 million tons, down 20.7% year on year; Iran's crude steel production was 2 million tons, up 34.1 percent year on year.
