Sinosteel offshore wind power layout new milestone Xingda sea-based underwater foundation offshore installation

Sinosteel (2002-TW) Group has written a new milestone in the layout of offshore wind power. Its subsidiary Xingda Haiji and Woxu Energy jointly announced today (14th) that six subsea scaffold foundations, 100% domestically made, have been officially installed at sea and are expected to be shipped in two batches to the first stage offshore wind farm in the southeast and southwest of Dachanghua.

It is known that the steel structure of the first stage offshore wind farm in the southeast and southwest of Da Changhua weighs about 1200 metric tons and is about 70-80 meters high, including nodes, diagonal braces, foundation, platform, climbing ladder, connecting section flange and other components, which are 100% produced in Taiwan by Xingda Haiji and more than 22 downstream suppliers.

Although THE initial defect rate OF XINGDA HAIKI is high due to the high technical threshold of welding and manufacturing required by the underwater foundation, with the completion of six underwater foundations and the recent projects, the defect rate has decreased significantly. Under the stable learning curve, the economies of scale will be improved along with the production capacity, and the operation capacity will be improved.

"The six subsea bases are not only a milestone for Xingda Haiji, but also for Taiwan's offshore wind power industry. They show that Taiwan already has the technical foundation for subsea basic production and assembly. The next step is to achieve continuous production and improve manufacturing efficiency, which will not only focus on the domestic market, but also become competitive in the region and the world," said Wu Xu.
